Zamin’s also intends to extend its interests to include minerals related to the broader iron production and supply chain. For this, a diversification into the production of energy minerals such as coal is planned.
In order to achieve the successful diversification, a number of highly qualified and experienced individuals in the exploration, development and mining of coal deposits are sought:
Coal Project Geologists
The ideal candidate should have experience in the following:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience within coal exploration, iron and / or industrial minerals, etc.
- Experience in diamond, rotary and / or reverse circulation drill supervision, core and chip logging and sampling
- Interpretation of coal quality data
- Knowledge and experience of downhole and surface geophysical techniques applied to coal exploration and interpretation of geophysical data
- Geotechnical logging of drill core
- Mentoring junior staff
- Health and safety management
- Organisation of logistics
- Monitoring of production records such as those for contractors (drilling, geophysics, etc.), geologists’ production (logging, mapping, etc.)
- Sample QAQC-related activities (sample dispatch, etc.)
- Reporting and communicating to managers, forward planning, prioritisation of multiple tasks
- Computer literacy, ability to learn and manage a 3D modelling / GIS databases
The ideal candidate should have experience in the following:
- Minimum of a B.Sc. Honours inGeology. A MSc. in Mining / Exploration would be highly favoured
- Minimum 7 years’ experience within the mining and exploration industry (coal exploration and coal development projects and/or iron, industrial minerals, etc.)
- Day-to-day project management including planning and budgeting, mentoring of geologists, managing of contractors, internal auditing and project data interpretation
- The ability to carry out and complete specific projects to a high standard
- The management of technical and non-technical staff
- Maintaining good community relations
- Management of project health and safety issues
- Computer literacy (office and exploration / mining specific software)
- Previous exposure and experience of all stages of mineral exploration from grassroots to resource estimation.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- A BSc. in Geology
- Initial geological experience in mineral exploration (between 12 – 18 months experience in a similar role)
- Geological mapping experience and working at a drill rig (core and/or chip logging and sampling)
- A demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team
- A willingness to learn
- Good organizational, interpersonal and computer literacy skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Must have a B.Sc. Honours (Geology). An MSc. in Mining / Exploration would be highly favoured
- Minimum 15 years’ experience within the mining and exploration industry (coal exploration and coal development projects and/or iron, industrial minerals, etc.)
- Experience in working and doing business in Indonesia (Bahasa language skills an advantage)
- Have ability to communicate complicated ideas to a wide audience
- Ability to build up and motivate a team of people
- Provide guidance and experience to Key decisions
- Have good community and safety awareness
- Lateral thinking
- Computer literate (office and exploration / mining specific software)
- Previous exposure and experience of all stages of mineral exploration from grassroots to resource estimation and Pre-feasibility Studies.
